Calling All Veterans!

Learn to fish on Big Sandy Creek

The Veterans Service Program is an outreach program to all of our veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much to protect the freedoms we all enjoy. The Veterans program is a nationwide program initiated by TU in 2011 to bring the healing power of the water to those who have served our nation.

The main purpose of the program is to provide a fishing experience to veterans who live in our region---but, the program provides a great deal more. This is a chance for the veterans and their families to socialize, work together with each other, and provide aid for those who need it. Veterans are invited to join Oil Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited’s talented stream mentors to learn fly fishing, spin fishing or improve your existing skills. You’ll also learn about conservation measures used to keep our streams healthy.

We provide fishing gear, supplies, fishing license (if needed), a one-year membership to Trout Unlimited, lots of fun and laughs and other hook-ups. Hotdog’s w/chili, non-alcoholic beverages and snacks will be provided. Fly tying and future fly tying classes will be made available.
